Sod installation involves laying down pre-grown grass turf to establish a new lawn or to repair damaged areas of an existing lawn. We start by preparing the soil by removing any existing grass, weeds, rocks, and debris. Till the soil to loosen it and improve drainage. Level the surface to ensure a smooth and even lawn. Install a fresh layer off soil and then install fresh Canadian Sod supplied by Manderley turf.
We begin by evaluating the area where you plan to install mulch. We will then determine the amount of mulch needed based on the square footage of the area and the desired depth of mulch coverage. Prep the area by clearing the area of any weeds, debris, or existing mulch. If necessary, install landscape fabric or weed barrier to help suppress weed growth and retain moisture (optional but recommended). Use a shovel or edging tool to create a clean, crisp edge along the perimeter of the mulch bed. Apply the mulch to the desired depth, typically 2 to 4 inches (5-10 cm)
Aerating your lawn involves perforating the soil with small holes to allow air, water, and nutrients to penetrate deeply into the root zone of the grass. Evaluate your lawn to determine if it needs aeration. Aerate your lawn during the growing season when the grass can quickly recover from the process(Spring/Fall). Signs that your lawn may benefit from aeration include compacted soil, water runoff, poor drainage, and thinning grass. We use care aerators which leave plugs on the lawn surface to break down naturally. They will help topdress the lawn and improve soil structure.
Trimming hedges is essential for maintaining their shape, promoting healthy growth, and keeping them tidy.
Top dressing, overseeding, and fertilizing are essential practices for maintaining a healthy and lush lawn.
Top dressing involves applying a thin layer of compost, topsoil, or a specialized soil mixture over the existing lawn surface. Benefits of top dressing include improving soil structure, increasing nutrient levels, and promoting microbial activity.
Overseeding involves spreading grass seed over the existing lawn to fill in thin or bare areas and improve overall density.
Fertilizing provides essential nutrients to support healthy grass growth and development.
Spring and Fall yard cleanups are essential to prepare your lawn and garden for the upcoming seasons and maintain their health and appearance. We will clear away any debris that has accumulated over the winter/summer, such as leaves and branches. Rake and dispose of dead leaves and debris from lawn areas, flower beds, and around trees and shrubs. Prune back dead branches from trees and shrubs to promote healthy growth and prevent damage. Trim back perennial plants and flowers that have finished blooming and remove any spent foliage. Remove annual plants and flowers from garden beds and compost or discard them.
The parking lot sweeping process involves cleaning and maintaining parking lots to remove debris, litter, leaves, dirt, and other unwanted materials. We will evaluate the property to determine the extent of cleaning needed and identify any specific areas or obstacles that require attention. Clear the parking lot of any obstacles such as parked cars, shopping carts, or other debris that may hinder the sweeping process. Close off or mark any areas where sweeping is taking place to alert pedestrians and drivers.
Assess the area and determine the layout and design of the interlocking surface. Consider factors such as the intended use of the area, desired patterns, colors, and the overall aesthetic. Excavate the area to the required depth, typically 6 to 12 inches (15-30 cm) depending on the project and soil conditions. Remove any existing vegetation, debris, or obstacles from the area. Grade the area to ensure proper drainage and a level surface. Install a base layer of crushed stone or gravel, followed by a layer of gravel screenings. Compact the base layer using a plate compactor to create a stable and level surface.
Snow plowing is the process of removing snow from roads, driveways, parking lots, and other outdoor surfaces using specialized vehicles. we use snow plows to push snow to the sides of roads or into designated snow storage areas, such as snowbanks or empty lots.
Salting parking lots is a common practice during winter weather conditions to prevent ice formation and enhance safety for pedestrians and vehicles. Monitor weather forecasts to anticipate freezing temperatures, snow, or ice accumulation that may require salting. Assess the condition of the parking lot to identify areas prone to ice formation, such as shaded or low-lying areas, entrances, ramps, and walkways. Apply de-icing material before snowfall or freezing rain begins, if possible, to prevent ice from bonding to the pavement surface. Apply de-icing material promptly after snowfall or ice accumulation to melt existing ice and prevent further buildup.
Snow disposal refers to the process of removing accumulated snow from cleared areas and transporting it to designated disposal sites. Assess the volume of snow accumulation and determine the need for snow disposal based on available space. Use front-end loaders, dump trucks, or specialized snow removal equipment to load snow into trucks for transport. Transport snow to designated disposal sites.
Salt bins are used to store salt or de-icing materials such as rock salt calcium chloride. The salt stored in these bins is used for spreading on roads, parking lots, sidewalks, and other outdoor surfaces to melt ice and snow during winter weather events.
Walkway snow removal is the process of clearing snow and ice from sidewalks, pathways, and pedestrian walkways to maintain safety and accessibility during winter weather conditions.
